Christmas gifts from Norway

The Christmas gifts we sent from Norway in December was delayed due to a strike at the customs office in Swaziland but has now been distributed to all the kids at the NCPs.

Tjengisa, the man on the pictures, sent this message today:

We are very pleased to send you photos of the recent disbursement of the Christmas gifts. The children were so excited and happy to have received the cards, and well written in Siswati. That’s amazing and thank you. Also we have received the money for one NCP operational cost for half the year. In addition a big thank you for the Christmas party donation of R10,000.00 and this money has been duly received with gratitude. Thank You, Thank You, Siyabonga Kakhulu!!!

Please also thank our “All Out Africa” Family in Norway with our warmest regards

Christmas gifts have arrived

Dear friends!

First with the good news, I managed to deal with Customs yesterday and we finally received the gifts!!! They are in the office now and already Eunice and I are trying to organise logistics for the beginning of the year. Photos to follow in 2018.

Your generous spirit has brought so much comfort and joy to so many people in Swaziland, there are no words to describe the gratitude they feel. The best we can say is thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

We at All Out Africa would be lost without your efforts!

Wishing you and yours a Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year!

Best Regards

Michelle and Team

Christmas Gifts update

Unfortunately, there is a strike at the Customs in Swaziland. The gifts we sent are therefore stranded in Mbabane at the moment. This is the mail I received today:

Hi Atle,

Hope you are enjoying the festivities leading up to Christmas.

I just wanted to give you an update on the gifts.

Unfortunately, the Customs Strike is going on so we still have not received the gifts. I went up to the head office on Monday to find a way forward but I got no help. I am going to see them again today and hopefully I can get some help.

Thanks again for your help and I will keep you updated!

Best Regards

Michelle

Christmas party

Good morning Atle,

What an exciting week we had!  The children had an amazing time!
It was a cold and rainy 2 days for the children but that did not stop the fun. Sun International really did an exceptional job. The children played and ate and were just kids! It was a heart-warming experience for all of us! I look forward to the next Christmas Party! I will let the pictures speak for themselves.

I have included photos of the  Teacher’s Christmas party we had on Friday, maybe you will see some familiar faces.

Once again, thank you!

Michelle

Christmas Gifts from Swaziland

To support the vulnerable children, the women working with them have made more than 100 small dolls and sent them to Norway. We are now selling them for NOK 250. The income will be returned to support the children with food and school in 2017. The cost of supporting one child is approximately 100 NOK per month.

The doll comes with a small tag with a greeting from the woman who made it and a small brochure (in Norwegian) about the project.

If you wish to buy a doll, please send a mail to atle.sundoy@gmail.com. Payment can be made to account no 3411.39.67775 or VIPPS #102351.

If you live outside Norway, you can transfer money to

All Out Africa Stiftelse

IBAN NO4334113967775

SWIFT DNBANOKK

We will send you the dolls before Christmas

200 gifts shipped to Swaziland

With the help of many good hearted people, including many children, we have collected gifts for the children at the NCPs and today we shipped around 200 gifts together with Christmas cards and some other things for the Christmas party in Swaziland. This means that each of the kids gets a gift for Christmas.

Thank you to all who made this possible.

Dolls in progress

The cooking ladies at Mvutjini NCP, one of the Neighborhood Caring Points, are busy making dollies to be shipped to Norway. If everything works out well, we will have the dollies around December 1st and the plan is to sell them to support the food program for the children in 2017. As you can see, they have a sewing machine available for part of the job. Last year, the sales of the dollies was a huge success, let’s hope we will be successful also this year.

Christmas gifts with a meaning

In the beginning of December, we will send a box with Christmas gifts to our children i Swaziland. We need your help to do this. If you wish to participate you can either make or buy something. If you buy gifts, the value per gift should be not more than 50 NOK. Mark the gift with the age of the child. (Most of the children are in the age 3 to 6) You can also mark it boy or girl if relevant. Have in mind that we will ship it to Africa with DHL so the gifts should be small and not too heavy. If you have kids, may be they have some toys or small teddy bears they can donate? Drawings and Christmas cards are also more than welcome. You can deliver or send the things to us at Atle Sundøy, Nordåshøgda 37, 5235 Rådal, Norway.

We will make sure that the gifts arrive in Swaziland before Christmas and post pictures of the Christmas party.

Salani kahle

Tomorrow, we are leaving Africa and return to Norway. It has been a fantastic time in Swaziland. We have met so many inspiring people and learned so much about the country, the culture and the fantastic Swazi people. We have also met enthusiastic and inspiring young volunteers from all over the world who spend their time and their money to come to Swaziland to work for the vulnerable children. We are deeply impressed. And we have met all the children who makes the work we do so meaningful and rewarding in every possible way.

There is a moment when you forget you are volunteering to help change lives, because it’s changed yours.

Ngiyabonga kakhulu, thank you all,we will not forget you and we hope to see you again.
